Instructions for use of Type 62 Compass
I. Azimuth measurement mechanism
It consists of a magnetic needle system, an azimuth dial, an aiming notch and a crosshair. The outer circle of the azimuth scale is 360°, and the inner circle is 6000 mils. When measuring the azimuth outdoors, after opening the compass, tilt the reflector toward the observer, and then check the azimuth from the reflector. The scale indicated by the "N" pole of the magnetic needle is the azimuth.
II. Distance measurement mechanism
It consists of three sharp corners formed by the aiming notch and the aiming crosshair. The sharp corners on both sides. The length of the sharp corners on both sides is A, and the length of the aiming notch and the middle sharp corner is 10A, which constitutes a simple ratio distance measurement mechanism of 10:1. In actual measurement, B can be any distance measurement target. If it is known that the actual width (or length) of this target is 5M, and it is located exactly at the tip of the two sharp corners, then the distance between this reference object and the measurer is: 10X5=50m.
3. Slope measurement mechanism
It consists of a slope dial, a slope pendulum, a reflector, etc. in a magnetic needle box. Its measurement range is plus or minus 60°. When in use, lift the compass, aim the compass at the target through the notch and the crosshairs, and use the reflector to read the slope between the standing point and the target. The slope meter can also be used for simple level verification.
4. Map distance measurement mechanism
It consists of a distance rolling wheel, a distance and a pointer. The distance meter is suitable for three maps of different scales: 1:100000; 1:50000; 1:25000, and the measurement unit is kilometers. Before use, use your finger to turn the roller to make the pointer point to "0", then put the roller on the starting point of the map, roll along the designated route to the target, and when you reach the target point, the scale indicated by the pointer is the number of kilometers on the map of that scale.
5. Surveying ruler
It consists of a ruler with the compass opened and laid flat, with a total length of 100MM. Lay the compass flat and make the surveying ruler parallel to the latitude or longitude line of the map, and then you can measure the specific coordinates on the map. A ruler can be used to draw a simple map and directly measure the straight-line distance between two points on the map.
The number of millimeters between two points on the map X the scale of the map = M 1000
Six Maintenance
1 When using and placing the compass, do not place it near ferromagnetic objects, high-voltage wires and electromagnetic devices, etc., to avoid errors and reduce the sensitivity of the compass.
2 When not in use, it should be placed in a ventilated and dry place. To avoid mold.
3 Do not twist the reflector and the reverse digital azimuth dial seat to avoid affecting its accuracy.
4 When the surfaces are dirty, you can gently wipe the surface with a white flannel cloth to keep the surface smooth.
